SFGNew 600x563 (DS) Spectral Force Genesis Now Out, Screens, & Info

It’s time to sharpen those DS stylus’ and don that suit of armor!

Spectral Force Genesis for the Nintendo DS has officially commenced its march toward retail stores nationwide. A tactical RPG set to the backdrop of warring nations, the latest installment in the popular Spectral Force Genesis series offers an all-new, character-driven experience. Choosing to become the leader of one of 40 countries, each with its own story and characters, players must decide how to unite the remaining countries and bring peace to the Neverland Kingdom. It’s up to the player to decide how to change the face of Neverland Kingdom – by diplomacy, or by force.

Using the DS stylus as a unique weapon of war, players will march troops into epic battlefields and deploy a variety of defensive and offensive strategies. Players can also conjure a roster of powerful magic spells to greatly alter the flow of combat. But there’s much more to uniting a broken kingdom than combat. Players must contend with a bevy of economic and societal dilemmas if they plan to dominate the map.

Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon – Review Round-Up March 16, 2010

FRAGILEDREAMS Logo Final Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon Review Round Up

The North American release features the original Japanese voices in addition to the newly recorded English voice-overs. A newly created “Extras” option becomes available once the game has been cleared, which allows players to revisit key event movies from the game in the movie gallery, view concept art, and watch the original Japanese trailers.

In support of its highly anticipated release, FRAGILE DREAMS: FAREWELL RUINS OF THE MOON will also feature a dual-sided box front, with the original Japanese box front art on the reverse side. Fans who pre-ordered the game at GameStop and EB Games will receive an exclusive special bonus, “The MOONLIGHT TRACKS” soundtrack, together with the retail release of the game, but only while supplies last.

Multiplayer.it – 85
Fragile Dreams is definitely better than the sum of its parts: while there are some gameplay and controls issues, the excellent work made by Tri Crescendo in terms of setting, characters and storyline is really what will make you go on until the credits roll.

Nintendo Power – 55
The developers have accomplished a rare feat in producing a game that is legitimately thought-provoking, original, and visually distinctive. Too bad they couldn’t find a way to make it fun. [Apr 2010, p.88]

IGN
“The bleak and eerie world in which Seto travels [is] beautiful and enthralling…the presentation is fabulous.” IGN.com, February 2010

GameSpot
“Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon is as beautiful and dreamy as the title implies.” GameSpot.com, February 2010

Dubious GameStop Practices Or Monster Hunter Mix-up?

gamestop store Dubious GameStop Practices Or Monster Hunter Mix up?

Is the gaming retail chain providing customers a free demo disc of Monster Hunter Tri without any strings attached or are they trying to use them to bait $5 out of your pocket?

Today I went on a few errands which brought me to GameStop. I figured while I was in there that I’d check to see if they had any more of the Monster Hunter Tri Wii demo discs still available. When I arrived and asked the employee about the disc, I was told that they were only being given those who pre-order the game. I tried to argue that Capcom had said the discs were free and not supposed to be a “pre-order bonus” and of course got no where. I went to another GameStop location only to be given the exact same story.

NintendoGal set up a map where she is plotting these GameStop stores, check it out and add to it if you can:

At Zelda Reorchestrated, we are commited to lush symphonic performances of the greatest songs from The Legend of Zelda™ as they would have sounded with the warm halls and intimate expression of a live philharmonic.

We do not seek profit or fame. We simply love Zelda and wish to share its inspiration on all of us with all of you.
